Before we can organize life in a way that feels sustainable and true, we need to understand the deeper forces that shape how we move through the world — our values and beliefs.
This section helps uncover what you stand on, what you’ve inherited, and what you may be ready to redefine.
Step 3:
How Values + Beliefs Shape Decisions
Every decision we make is rooted in something deeper. Sometimes it’s alignment. Sometimes it’s fear, pressure, or habit.
Take a moment to write:
A recent decision I made that I feel proud of — what values did it reflect?
A decision I regret or struggled with — what influenced it?
Going forward, what filter do I want to use when making hard choices?
You may notice patterns that reveal where your inner world and outer world are in sync — or in conflict.
This part of your identity work is like looking at the soil beneath your life. The deeper you understand what’s growing there, the more intentionally you can plant and protect what matters most.
Step 1: Identify Your Core Values
Beliefs are often shaped by life experiences, community, trauma, and the roles we’ve played. Some beliefs empower us. Others limit us.
Ask yourself:
What are three beliefs I hold about myself that feel true right now?
Where did these beliefs come from?
Do they reflect who I am today — or who I used to be?
Are there beliefs I’m ready to let go of?
