Changing Our Habits

Habits are powerful. They’re the little things we do on repeat, often without thinking — and over time, they shape our lives in big ways. Some habits draw us closer to peace and wholeness, while others quietly pull us off track.

The good news? Habits aren’t permanent. They can be reassembled.

Small Shifts That Last

Galatians 6:9 says:

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

That verse reminds me that real change is built on small, steady choices. One shift at a time, we can form habits that line up with who God created us to be.

Breaking Old Patterns

Romans 12:2 puts it this way:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Lasting habits aren’t just about willpower — they begin in the mind. When we pause to notice what triggers our patterns, we give ourselves the chance to choose differently.

Habits That Anchor Us

The habits that truly last are simple and grounding: pausing for prayer before I scroll, choosing whole food instead of rushing for quick fixes, carving out quiet with God before the noise of the day. They’re not about perfection but alignment — progress over performance.
